Never thought I’d see ourselves in this crisis,
Watching the whole world deal with the Coronavirus,
Our leaders working tirelessly together to develop a vaccine,
To defeat an enemy that is unseen,
Basic supplies missing off shelves for weeks,
Yet we haven’t even reached the peak.

Our doctors and nurses exhausted and scared,
Our frontline and first responders acting bold yet unprepared,
Our loved ones fighting for their lives, gasping for air,
Nothing seems fair.

Churches use technology to help us keep our faith,
As communities shelter in place,
Companies getting creative producing tests and masks,
Grocery store workers and truckers have stepped up to the task,
While teachers are instructing from the screen,
All that most of us can do, is wait nervously in vain.

This pandemic does not discriminate,
There isn’t time to wait,
Everyone must sacrifice and do their small part,
Keep your distance and stay six feet apart!
