6 weeks in and another 5 weeks to go here in Northern California.
As we end the 6th week of shelter-in-place,
It is fair to say we aren’t all in the same boat...some are coronacationing on yachts, some are quietly relaxing on sailboats, some are paddling hard in a dinghy, some are delicately balancing trying not to fall out of the kayak, and many others are barely hanging on to a buoy so they don’t drown...but what is the same, is we are all weathering the same deadly storm that has tested our character and our strength.
After every storm, is a rainbow of much hope, promise and possibility. Hang in there my friends and stay positive. Things may never be the same as they once were, but maybe that’s not a bad thing...
The nautical analogy is quite apropos. My little life raft has been floating nicely since October when I quit going out because my intense sweating does not bode well in cold weather. But why do I need to go out at all everything I need this brought to me by my loving partner? My cornucopia is overflowing without my doing anything. Simply wonderful, this staying in place without any social distancing from her at all.
This is a time to become intimate with friends and loved ones big and small. It's also a time for self-reflection and meditation. We have this precious time to get right with our Maker who made us all. May the Lord bless you for writing this. For it poetry like this has the power for bringing out the best in others. May God bless you richly my friend, during such a time as this. Amen
