I wonder, too. I think perhaps you wouldn't be hurting more but in a different way. Pain is very subjective. But my dear friend Emile Tubiana (below) makes a very astute observation. He's a man who has known much, shares all, and is a true and loving sage.

Your heart goes out to a kindred spirit, your soul says prayers fot one you care about, your mind questions what you can do to help in a helpless situationg...but you are doing what needs to be done because they know that you care. I like these short bursts from your heart Chrissie...well done.

What a loving soul you are...yes Christine I do believe so. When actually feeling someone's pain it can leave you feeling their intense agony, wishing to solve the problem and help in anyway you can. Love you, Holly

... yes, it's a conundrum, Christine. In many ways, I feel more "in control" of my own pain and learn to deal with it; others' whose I feel almost as deeply completely knaws at my soul - especially so if I feel helpless and at a loss as to how to help.
