Hollow Night

Instincts lifted her through dark,
scent of his musk lingered sweet,
path lukewarm, with his presence,
a distant drum of his heartbeat

Branches reached out to direct,
into a clearing, she carried fears,
his sobs orchestrated in the wind,
where he knelt, in river of tears

She could not reason nor rhyme,
why he’d leave the bed they shared,
soft glow of her lantern exposed,
script that the tombstone declared

My Beloved Angel Abigail
May 05 1961 -  Oct 31 1998

she collapsed, wings sheltered him,
his phantom of love, in the night

A very visual piece, animated by this movement made of instinct, heartbeat, a walk, branches that show the way, glow of lantern... until the final revelation. Well done!

Christine, sheltered by the wings of an angel, a love she knew not --this is romantic and carries love beyond the grave to a new level for me -- this work carries a haunting refrain and cries out for all to reach with compassion for understanding -- I bid you joy, love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael

As I write, I feel her loss, pain and immeasurable sadness. I have missed spending time in the Den with my friends. It is good to be reading you, again.

Chrissie you brought the dead to life as his angel there to give him the comfort he so desparately craved. When love is that strong...the spirit will always reach out. One of your truly very best...love it.

Strange in one way but tender
and very beautiful in another
and it's tenderness and beauty
that register with me most.
Christine, your writing has the power
to hold and touch.

Huh, I guess he didn't have a ghost until he was looking for love in a graveyard?

Bare on a tombstone.
