The Texas bluebonnets do make our state look lovely when they're blooming. It's a shame Lady Bird Johnson isn't alive to see them, this year, but what a gift she gave us.

we have them on the back 1/4 of our property near the creek, and living very near the proverbial TExas 'bluebonnet trail', they will be covering the earth near the end of march [hence we will ahve the bluebonnet festival]....oceans of nearly purple [with the odd red blanket piercing the skin]. ... silly lupines.. .my favourite thing about them is actually their leaves; all organic and nearly lacey shaped. .. like splayed fingers.. . .
