This Mother's Heart is Grieving

This was in the news today, a distraught father shot and killed his five children, ages 7 to 16, and then committed suicide by shooting himself too.
The mother was not around.

Another senseless killing-
Will someone make it stop,
The thought's so horrifying,
Haven't we had just enough?

There's no reason I can find,
Why kill those children too?
Man, if you have lost our mind-
Spare the kids in what you do!

No, suicide's not painless-
It's brutal, sickening!
Those lives lost were blameless,
They don't deserve such dying.

Yes, Mothers are affected,
This mother's heart is grieving,
For each child who ends up dead-
A part of us is dying.

For those so lost and fallen
By life's worries and affairs,
Please seek help, ease the burden,
There are some who truly care.

Have someone to pray for you,
Just reach out and take their hand-
Each man's pain is ours too,
For no man is an island.

Let it out and touch someone,
Feel the hug of humanity-
We're all in this when day's done
We'll beat the odds in unity.

It is a sad state of desperation which drives some to commit such a passionate crime of horror. And it will continue. Very informative and hopeful poem. Bless you, J'nia

Why? Why? Why?
Left to wonder. . . . . .
How a man can be so evil.

I so AGREE! WE will beat the odds in UNITY! just as
my most recent poems have been expressing!
My heart dies too for these lost and confused souls!
I am saddened by this! Your words and heart spoke a openly!AS a healing from many ( I would hope) is taking place!
This sickens me as I see it around here too, and faith is dying in many... They must stay lifted!
God Bless their loving unknowing spirits!

First was a man, a plough, a ox and a lot of sweat, and the earth gave plentiful back.
Then came the tractors, artificial enrichment of the soil, industrializing the farming, the society became "use & throw" one and the farming converted in golf spreads.
The earth is frowning and man seems not caring much.

Truly horrific, and our sad old world seems to be going madder, every day now.

Cynthia,
These great inspiring verses:

"Let it out and touch someone,
Feel the hug of humanity-
We're all in this when day's done
We'll beat the odds in unity"

God Bless you.
