Chaotic conundrum at six...
cascading shapes and color,
inkblots spilled out before me
without reason.

I was never much for reason
anyway and so dreamed answers
to their riddles, imagined
a mystery.

The good doctor, his briefcase filled
with surprises, liked the magic
I read in laminated
cards, black and white.

I had won the prize – “Come on down!
You are the next contestant on
Freak Factor 101.” Move
over, classmates...

Amused by his fascination
with dancing fairies, unicorns,
I named my new friends – God knows
I needed some.

“Brilliant creativity.” Two
words rolled off his tongue like spilling
sanity he failed to see
in prodigy.
