Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to swing you high as a child
and not let go?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to tell you it would be alright
when your heart broke?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     who meant the words said that day and
stayed by your side?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to help raise a child in this world…
an awesome task?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     you could count on to be a friend
through anything?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     who said, “We love you, will be your
home. You belong?”

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to tell about cancer scare, threat
of early death?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to hold onto day twin towers
came crashing down?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to love like I love you to love
you back the same?

Who are you to judge me,
you who had
someone
     to tell you truth of what happened,
to set you free?

Awesome work, Dawn! I used to use "creative spacing" like that, but stopped when I found that my poetry was never published in said form. . . . What a disappointment that was! It was fun, though -- I shall have to begin experimenting with it again!

On the "content" side -- I am *so* happy that you're asking that question! "Judge not lest ye be judged. . . ." You tell 'em, girlfriend! If you wanted to be a doormat, you would advertise for it on a T-shirt! Since there is no such advertising, all oppressive feet attempting to hold you down shall be removed immediately! By order of the owner! Good for you! You know you deserve *far* better!
