Poem Artwork

A day and a million strung behind
of me, myself and I –
too hard they tell me
to love my kind.

A week’s worth of reminders that things
will never be the same –
that I’ve been caught
in double bind.

A month without modern medicine
to moderate my mind –
five hundred dollars
I did not find.

A year’s time of living arrangement
I hoped temporary –
reminded of loss,
spirit maligned.

A decade of mourning into night
besides the year of you –
bright solace, great joy;
oh, how life shined.

A lifetime only wanting to belong
somewhere and to be loved –
great as I love you,
free, unconfined.

An eternity of blessed peace
awaits ahead for me –
I walk on, but how
life’s roads do wind.

A moment presents a crucial choice
and so I choose to live –
hurting human heart
with God’s aligned.

A single second could change my course,
open new perspective –
alter past, amend
my life defined.

Dawn, this is an extremely well-penned poetic emotive composition my gifted friend. Unfortunately, some days are easier than others, yet the most important thing one can do, is just put one foot in front of the other and forge ahead. Thank you for sharing your remarkable talent and timeless treasures. Take care and be well.

Dawn I sense the tug of war struggle, and I hope you are kind to yourself, for it is a life-long path of dualities ahead. the hope is in your attitude which shows you have what it takes and know in whom to trust! God is our best hope and we should never forget that. Man can never deliver what He can.I love your poetry, you are full of talent and have many gifts, concentrate on these, while you struggle to meet lifes demands.
