“Blown to bits, promised bridge of hope, reconciliation.” Bitter, I raged against brisk, biting wind, plotting reckless suicide dive, seeking sweet collusion from my better mind.
Prone to fits of manic flow, rapid deceleration as into void of despair I descend, I often depart, then arrive at reverse conclusion or a double bind.
So I stepped on a stone, then another and another, skipping my way across rough river wide, when I saw that I had nearly crossed what seemed a great divide. I had found a way!
Know I wept tears of weary waiting for you, brother. Time passed slowly. Faith rekindled inside I waded to far shore, feeling lost without you at my side where I hoped you’d stay.
You are so good at depicting deep inner conflict and struggle that many of us can know nothing of, Dawn. You have a real gift for "taking us there" and making us aware of something of how it feels. You are always lucid, and master at articulating what would seem to be the impossible. I think your work would have an immense positive impact were it to be used therapeutically in hospitals or prisons. I have an interest in the use of poetry as therapy, and may pursue such avenues myself once I have complete my course. May there always be light at the end of the tunnel, and may you experience the deep joy of leading many others to it... TY and bless you, LOL Kate xx

A powerfully emotive write and I really like the experimental form as well. This touched my heart, Dawn.
Dawn, we sometimes find a pathway narrow and treacherous, yet we continue on. It's simply our need to fulfill our own dreams. Your Brother is and will always be beside you, for you carry him within your heart.
Offer your hand and he will grasp it.
Touching and heartfelt poem Dawn.
In facing the roughness of the river and finding a way to trudge across it we learn our amazing strength and our lesson of self-reliance. Yes, it would have been easier with someone by our side; but not having that, is never a reason to stop moving forward and facing life's challenges. This is beautiful poetry, Dawn and the lesson is well expressed. Very nice!
Take care,
Sherry
So I stepped
on a stone, then another and another,
skipping my way across rough river wide,
when I saw that I had nearly crossed
what seemed a great divide.
I had found a way!
Very powerfulv verses. You had the will to cross the river; that is why you found the way
Excellent poem
Sherlyn Powell opens up about her love and devotion to her family and the overwhelming repercussion when communication breaks down. Heartbroken and distraught she learns to release her prayer and realize with faith God would reunite her family.
Join me as we travel together on the road called "Aging." I will be sharing my personal experiences with you and offer ideas on how we can better navigate the complex byways of our older years. Grief, healing, generations, ancestors, and more.
Offer your hand and he will grasp it.
Touching and heartfelt poem Dawn.
