just a short note to say I'm not sure what this is about much less who it is about and it sounds more pessimisstic than I am. but something about it, maybe the cloud image, kept pulling at me... so, lucky you, here it is... Dawn

Full-bodied clouds
laden with watery gift withheld
move at a cumbersome pace,
advancing nevertheless toward
an undisclosed destination.

Earthbound, lodged,
unmovable by graceful wind,
we remain clouded, filled whole with stuff
of life, hope of growth, but unable to deflate
ourselves long enough to taste promised spring.

We think we are drifting
away from one another, into oblivion,
too far from the place God intends for us to be.
Really, we’re shot through with leaden bullets
of shame, restrained by a boa constrictor past,
held captive by our own willfulness,
going nowhere fast.

Maybe we see march of grey clouds
and tremble with fear at the image of being moved
by Spirit to an undisclosed destination,
knowing we’ll be changed by difficult journey
as we carry what could be a beautiful creation -
or a freak of nature.

Dawn, there is much to be said of this drifting spirit that is laden with so much care...this is a truly outstanding piece.

Dawn,

What a mysterious journey your talented mind takes us on! I particularly loved the ending stanza...the fear of the unknown, the hesitation, the not-knowing-you-can't-do-anything-about-it-so-you-might-as-well-enjoy-the-ride attitude--LOVE IT!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
