My only additional thought to those already voiced below is how wonderful that each of us is designed to become and fulfill our full potential in our own "island home", our own "peace-filled kingdom" that we are destined to inhabit. THEN we can be fully integrated into ourselves and into the environment that is uniquely ours to savour and conquer... Just thinkin out loud here, Dawn, and wonderin when it is that my own colours and plumage will truly start to shine as a sign that I, too, am thriving??!! Wonderful cameo you present here. TY Kate xx

This is a fantastic poem, Dawn. You make a strong connection between human and bird, bringing in the reality that each of us grows with each passing day and there is also a lot more to us than we realize or understand. Awesome write, beautiful images and intense depth.
