"Hellooooo!!" I hear the greeting
it's my e-mail notifier
meeting
my inner ear canal - so I am glad-
I've got an e-mail I haven't read!
quickly to my desk I hurry
excitement makes my vision blurry,
'cause I'm waiting for a note,
someone promised me a quote,
or maybe it's a poem you wrote...

A simple click - another spam
dissapointment -
God! It is more scam!
I scream out loud,
"I had enough!!-
I don't want to buy your stuff!"

Exhausted I fall into my chair,
I'm tired,
at my computer screen I stare
and wonder who buys all this crap
from people I just want to slap.

They promise half prize and a great deal
on magic pills and a new appeal
for all man kind who can't provide
the ultimate feeling for their unsatisfied bride...

others claim to have the best,
the cheapest software in the west-
they say they do exactly know
how to make lost hair come back and grow...

Frustrated I close down my mail,
turn off the computer
I feel kinda frail,
unwanted sales people wear me out
I sit for a moment drop my lip and pout
then I draw a hot bath and hop in the tub
wish you'd be here for a nice back rub,
and as I indulge in this bubbling bliss,
the phone rings ---
should I get it, or can it be missed?
I can't let it go, curiosity kills
who might it be? who wants to share their frills?
Butt naked I run, leaving trails of foam
I pick up the line.... some idiot wants to re-morgage my home...

I know the feeling, but a good spam filter should fix your problem for good. There are a number of good, free, ones around. Very nice poem though. Willie

You are so right with this one, TV advertisement was bad enough but even on this page there is so much advertisement that we just try to ignore. I posted a lovely poem the other day that I poured my heart into and guess what when it was posted to the den there was some sleazy add below it. Man maybe we should start a spam rebellion. You looked great in those bubbles though Rebecca...lol

Rebecca,

I can definitely relate to that except for the running butt naked. There are privacies that no one can disturb. I put my phone line on that do not call # and I still get so many unwanted calls. Now I have caller ID and I only answer those who identify themselves by the courtesy of leaving a message. Keep your chin up girl and never waste a relaxing soak. Blessings Always, Paul.

This is when the government needs to get off their dead ass and OUTLAW spam! ALL of it. PERIOD!! Outstanding write of frustration of a growing problem; very well penned, Rebecca! I hear ya!

Rebecca,

I hear you! Especially when they say you've won the lottery...or want to give you some money from somebody's will you don't even know...or give you sharp discounts on pharmacy products...or soliciting sex on line...GAD. H A T E Spam (the *so-called* edible and the mail type). Delete, delete, delete!!!! Do not open, just get rid of it. Only way to stop is not going on line, I guess: sad, when people have nothing better to do than scam people out of money. Excellent write borne of frustration!!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
