My Burning Sun
Ever so often, you sneak into my life,
Like the sun does every dawn.
Stirring up emotions in me,
That I thought were long gone.
And just as sure as the sun does set,
You re-kindle the fires within me,
Burning me up, then you’re off again,
Leaving me to crawl back into a hole.
Each day I stare out my window,
Hoping my sun will shine.
But most days all I see are dark clouds,
Telling me today you won’t be mine.
But yesterday the sun shone brightly for me,
There were no clouds in the sky.
It made me so happy when I felt your heat,
And you know the reason why!!
I know that soon you’ll be gone again,
For that, I’ve prepared my heart.
I’ll enjoy the time we have together,And cherish the memories when we’re apart.
