A Thin Line Between Love And hate

There’s a thin line between love and hate

And now I’ve crossed that line.

I’ve loved you for thirty-five years

Now I don’t ever want you inside my gate.

I’ve taken all the heartache I can bear,

You’ve caused me too much grief.

You’ve taken me beyond the limit,

Now, for you, I really do not care.

The very sight of you now makes me sick.

I don’t even want to hear your name.

You have hurt me in the worst possible way,

Now I want you out of my life real quick.

You have caused our family so much pain.

You have made us hang our heads in shame.

The time has come to cut you loose,

I am tired of this strife and strain.

You succeeded time and again to make me feel such guilt,

You have said so many hurtful things to me.

You have forced the three people I love the most,

To leave the home that our Dad built.

I want you to know it just wouldn’t work anymore.

For now I’ve crossed the line between love and hate.

No longer will I be a sucker for your lies,

You’re no longer welcome at my door!

~~xXx~~

Excellent writing but subject very sad I am sorry to read this Jenny as I do know from your past reads that you love your family deeply and it would be a last straw for you to do this poem.
I hope he gets better soon, never give up believing there is hope for him and I hope and pray he finds the will to change. He can recover if he tries.... many have.
Best wishes

Sometimes the line is necessary, separate yourself from the one causing such pain boot them out along with the hate. Great emotive voice.

I once heard that the opposite of love is not hate but indifference. Hate is an extreme offshoot of love but still stands as proof of life... I hope that when the time is right, restoration will come and that you are blessed with the power to remain strong in your convictions until that day does comes again.

An evoking write, Jenni.
Keep sharing

"A Thin Line Between Love And hate". A true description of reality by a heart that felt the real emotions of the actions as they happened.

It is sad to know that families lose their beloved Ones, when grace and love are replaced by an undesirable habit that fades the light and ideals of Togetherness.

May this be a lesson to all of us.

I thank You for sharing this "A Thin Line Between Love And hate".

I have a former brother, too; but in my case, it was his superior, self-righteous attitude. Sad circumstances - nice write though.

Thank you...I should mention here that this is about someone who was once my brother. His addiction to drugs has taken over his life and he doesn't seem to want our help.
The thing is, he is hell bent on destroying other lives.
