Silent Screams

~~xXx~~

I scream..

But does anyone hear my cries!!

I ache,

Yet no one feels my pain.

I look for comfort,

Which is not given.

I beg for reassurance,

But that, too, is denied me.

I crawl through life

And have to bear their laughter

And their happiness...

I have to tolerate their exixtence...

I am forced to watch as they burst with pride,

And all the time it's eating me up inside.

And they...

they do not realise

that I am slowly dying

form a need that is not being fulfilled.

Why have I been denied

the experience and joy of motherhood?

They do not know,

and never will...

For my screams are silent,

and my face, a mask,

Is brave.

Oh Jenni this is such a powerful, sad and painful poignant write! Kay is correct, "your poems are all beautiful children and so are you!" You can scream anytime you want to, and there are those of us who do/will hear and understand!
