My head was full of the plumbing work I had to do this morning; not that I forgot it was 9-11 but I didn't think I had anything to offer, wordwise.
Tonight, now at this late hour, I remember the events and how for several years after, I played the piano every 9-11 for a few years.
Now I remember that I'm a musician and I do have something to offer for this day of rememberance though it has no words.
Though this music is soon to be released I am not doing it for promotional reasons, but wish to add something of my own to this days memorials as I remember how along with so many others loved ones my cousin died in the South Tower (I'm originally from New York, though I hadn't seen him since youth.) It goes to show how far the tentacles of that days events wrapped around American families, both those who lost loved ones and those who didn't...

In Memory Only there are no words,
just a sad, but beautiful, emotional music
that swells and ebbs then fades
gradually to black but not before ending
on the the sweet soft major chord of
Remembrance in D...
and those lives and music continue on in
an unseen (by us) and unheard realm...

for my cousin: Chris Quackenbush who died that day in 2001 in the South Tower and ALL
those who died that day above ground and below
[And also in memory of my parents who have now joined them...]

Watch 102 minutes last night. The cameras and people behind them created a script un-writeable, and poignant. Sirens, silence, shouts, and gasps of horror.

Michael,

I'm so sorry, didn't know you'd lost a cousin! Now I know another one...please accept my condolences. How can we move on? I don't know: it happened; can't deny it. We learn to live, somehow...not that it's easy. Very difficult to do. We can't "get over it," as MW below said: those that forget history are condemned to repeat it. I WILL NEVER FORGET. Beautiful, haunting music...thank you for your Gift.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
