Jesus Cheer

We get so loud an shout about how much we love God ----- when we should be following Jesus' example.
The cheer began…. “We love Jesus, yes we do We love Jesus, how about you?” A group across the way echoed, “We love Jesus, yes we do We love Jesus, how about you?” Back and forth the challege was batted like a tennis ball. The early angelic smiles soon became sneerful as each side wanted to win the “Love Jesus” chant. Voices became higher pitched more shrill more unpleasant to hear with increased volume. Meanwhile, across town someone silently fed a hungry person.

And the one lone person feeding one who was hungry won the day and the attention of Jesus. It is not in the shouting but in the doing .....

You write so clearly about those who trumpet God's message, but fail to put it into action. I could feel the people's passion rising, and felt the tenderness at the end.

I believe we should all love Jesus, and I chant in prayer each day and try to be pleasing to Him. A sure way is to open our hearts to others. Thank you for sharing your words with us.
