We didn't get to the Cardinal Winter Warm-up because of the health of my son-in-law and me. But we had a great time.
With tickets firmly in my hand
I headed in to Cardinal land.
My son-in-law and I shared a thrill
but things went against our will.
His fibromyalgia showed its ugly face
and my diabetes swiped me of my grace.
So the first day we stayed home
from the sofa I didn’t roam.
Second day was a ditto mark
neither of us could find a spark.
We never got an autograph
but we shared a hearty laugh.
Though we never got to go
my face has been a great big glow.
My daughter’s love in the giving
is the thing that makes life worth living.
Well I am glad to hear it wasn't a wasted trip Larry and it sounds to me the love was a good price to pay for a restful trip. hope you are feeling better. Thank you for sharing.
So, not bating, no pitching, no loaded bases, no kicking dirty towards the Umpire...and no hot dogs with everything (heavy on the onions please)
Sorry about that my friend, but it will come another time to burn the cardinal's socks off with a future hot game. (pre-warming...whatever)
The important thing are that good health gets back pronto!!!
Georg
Dear Larry, how well I understand you. At our beautiful age we prepare the ground for grace. We continue to send love, without hesitation or glove. Your great poem is already spreading the good news, which make life worth living. Emile
Sorry you didn't make it to Cardinal land, but I don't think you really care for instead you were reminded of what really makes the world continue to turn. Love. Love of your daughter for you and her husband and the simple good time you had. Thoroughly enjoyed. Liz
Sorry to hear health reared its ugly head; but glad you still had a good time. At least you didn't end up in the hospital; be thankful for THAT. Feel better soon, 'kay??
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
...unforeseen...sometimes the best ticket...when positive thoughts hit the ball out of the park...right into your own backyard.
you found the positive Larry...

Oh, I'm sorry it didn't work to plan, Larry, but glad you had a good time, despite health problems. You both get to feeling better, 'hear? An excellent write, in any event.

but we shared a hearty laugh.
So sorry you didn't get your autographs, my friend, but sharing a hearty laugh, to me, is always worth the trip!
