I'm no stranger
to failure
Mistake wasn't just
a surname
I began the club
of indecision
if you studied statistics
I was the poster child
for dysfunctional
all you had to do
was look at where I came from
better yet
read one of my diaries
I was lost
in the land of self-pity
My sins, my sins were many
the weight of them
crushing my heart
like a paperweight
on an ant
but even in my darkness
you led me gently
you never let go
you kept your promise
unlike most men I knew
you kept your word
you didn't abandon me
and because of you
today
I know for sure
despite the many long, weary
and wrong roads
I am here
in this beautiful place
where I was meant to be
and all because you love me
and refuse to let go...
when I was furthest from you
you were closest to me
Oh, have I learned, have I learned
dear God, have I learned
my prayer most fervent
my soul's desire is this
teach me, teach me then
oh Lord, to love you
to love you even more!
(With God there are never any mistakes, just beautiful pauses)

This is simply beautiful.
And the picture... it is one of my favorites for personal reasons and seeing it...today of all days...set my eyes to clouding over with tears.

And no matter how many times we stumble and fall, He will be there.
