lying awake
preparing to sleep
laying on this bed
hearing my heart beat
memories of nights
it cried me to sleep
memories of nights
it nestled in deep
how tender this heart
and all it feels
moments of strengths
and times it feels weak
all of the journeys
it's led me on
now here it is pounding
a sensitive place i own
closing my eyes
preparing to sleep
laying on this bed
hearing my heart beat
