I decided to take a walk one day.  I wanted to visit some people I hadn't
seen in a while.  I went past the gate, and looked all around.  It was so
serene, peaceful and beautiful there.  All the yards were neatly manicured, birds singing everywhere.

I kept walking until I was greeted by two people, the people that gave me life.   "Hi Mom and Dad, how have you been?"

My mother looked at me sternly and said, "where on earth have you been?  You never once visited us, do you mind explaining why?

I looked down at the sidewalk feeling so ashamed.  "Mom, I'm sorry, I just don't feel comfortable here.  This place is not like your others, I think it was a mistake for you to move here"

Mom put her hands on her hips, a gesture I knew so well, "now just what business is it yours, Missy, where we decide to live!"

At that moment, I realized I was only daydreaming not wanting to face the facts.   I now knew where I really was, I looked down at the ground and began to cry.

I knelt on the ground and touched two plates, laying peacefully side by side.  One said "Beloved Husband", the other "Beloved Wife",  I carefully placed the flowers that I had brought on their eternal beds.

I looked back one more time before I left, finally realizing they were gone.  A dove flew overhead and said to me, "they're in peace, now say good-bye"

I felt a lump form in my throat and before I left, I said, "I miss you Mom and Dad"
