A young child waits this special night

Moths caught around her bedroom light

Out of corners eerie shadows creep

Approach the girl bravely fighting sleep

Heard, a faint tinkle of moving glasses

Unknown territory as midnight passes

Fearful chill when old staircase creaks

From under duvet our heroine peeks

A dull glow shows below closed door

選知 big, I知 brave, I知 almost four

I値l look and face whatever may come

Desperately hoping it痴 her loving mum

Left in scary silence to her young fate

Well prepared for an anxious wait

Mystic flash, a small elf appears

Gone forever the girl痴 primeval fears

Giggling excitement bubbles in its stead

Rumpled duvet strewn across pink bed

Another flash, white smoke, long pause

Red coat, white beard, its Santa Clause

践e痴 here, the one I致e waited to see

White sack of presents, just for me?

Knowing eyes smile, whole face glows

Wrinkled finger taps his bright red nose

From deep slumber the small child wakes

Recent memories flash, little body shakes

Darkness still envelops cold outside street

Wait! What is that up against her tiny feet?

Scary thoughts through young mind burn

Previous fears make unwelcome return

Eventual bravery forces brief worried look

Glee appears along side bright cartoon book

A night痴 distant worries totally shed

Momentary disbelief, a toy covered bed

Slowly eyes widen, lips lovingly beam

Father Christmas has magically been

She's brave alright - at hardly four, sleeping alone and I hear creaking stairs - I'd run like a scared chicken! Lol. Wouldn't even wait to see the sack of presents ... lol ...
Beautiful Christmas write, David.

God bless,

Sandie.
