within the chronicles of my life’s charted courses...
speaking from my listening soul…

Photography Artist: Unknown to Me

I Drown

Thorns of vile deception

 pierced into my troubled soul;

Infecting me

with the lurid exploits

of another’s wounded heart…

Feeling their imprisoned bars

as if they were my own trepidations,

I felt their silence…wrought by disquieted gates

of pallid nightmares.

Touching upon visions passage

 like an equinox of fear;

Ambiguity was a furtive heathen

of open shadows scathed.

Feeding upon the cautious doubts

of confidence;

Harboring contempt

like a wrath of stolen securities,

I stood frozen

within the transparency

 of their concealed thoughts.

Watching them maneuver

into obtrusive manifestations,

I was given the visor’s rein

of their repulsions curse.

Loathing in their scars

before their quietus moments,

I bore witness

watching them wear the enmity of a mask

filled within the erosions

 of unforgotten time.

Subjecting perils of anonymity

into the haze of resurrections cross;

bearing valedictions of surreptitious demise;

I drown inside this darkness

feeling their sorrowing hearts’ as my own.

…Thick like the revolting gallows

 of an undated trespass;

Intruding into the lucid voices

of justifications reason;

Unburied within their echoes

of remembrances;

Scorned by the stealthy life

 of a beast they cannot destroy.

…They speak…

Restricted by their continuum layers

severed into vestibules emotional stains;

their effusive echoes for me I heed;

cleansing my will for their spiritual freedoms;

shouting from the surreal of voluble darkness;

I hear them…

I am knowing…

I am an empath…

I drown…in them…

I am…

It is such a gift to be able to be so empathic and to really feel how others feel but I guess very overwhelming sometimes. I know that when a close friend or relative is going through something it almost feels like I am too sometimes. I guess that shows our love. God bless. Baz

Very stirring. I have a small degree of this ability (empath/sensitive). Not always fun. It feels like electricity crackling on the air when others' moods are high. Depression feels muggy. I tend to relate others' moods to weather. It's easiest to explain...lol. It effects my moods too often. Thank God mine is not this charged. It would be terrible. This write is dark, but I imagine being able to feel this much off a person would be dark. The masks people wear cover much. Hugs,
Sheila

Being caught up, (at times helplessly) in the complications of anothers intrigues, (emotional, intellectual or spiritual) is something all of us have experienced before. And yes, there are times when the experience enamors more than repulses and, in so doing, offers us something that is special, something that we can use in our own understanding of humanity's struggles on a fraying planet. There is a classic feel to this, poetess, that is reminiscent (to me) of Robert Lewis Stevenson, and of Daniel Defoe.

Intense dark exploration of self/spirits that makes us all pause and also question the validity of worth. Vickie your vocabulary often amazes me but the rythem you take into a verse and the images you create are what make your writes unique and origianal. Thank you for sharing such treasures.

Subjecting to anonymity perils is the image of a desperate soul inside a room without windows and doors searching for an escape. The turmoil will be enhanced as the light of that emotional room are switched off.
