Miracles Grow Hickory Chickens
Fricandeaux peasemeals are tenderly plated
Delicatessens from prisons birth
Free the bovine yeanling to life’s womb
Indian buffalo searches the moorlands…
She came from burlap gunny sacks
The big city may hold secret delights
but what she knows are the ambrosial fields
hidden within her treasured dyeing elms.
…deer droppings seasoning their earth
where miracles grow hickory chickens
those adventitious honeycombed ascocarps
upon waning moon librations
she always hunts…
Aficionados are her wild asparagus shoots
Her assemblages and her prized sundries
These officinales succulent herbaceous shoots
Growing along roadside ditches with grasses
Fluttering with saturnian wingspans as clues
Their eyes look deeply into fearless truths
flaunting as those in a bravura to her soul…
She appears to be a lost vagrant searcher
But the bon vivant of earth knows her well
She is a sybarite harvesting fragrant life meadows
Within the cultivating era of gracile prosperity
The true benefactions offering treasures harvest…
