Bewildered, she moves through the house,
Endlessly searching for reminders–
Only to collide with his absence.
At times, she feels vulnerable and tattered –
Wanting nothing more than to crumble –
Yet, she still stands.
Then, there are moments
When she struggles with rage,
Angry with him for abandoning her.
She often thinks of her life as a worn piece of thread–
Loosening, breaking -
Separating, then dwindling away.
And she wonders when she will
Feel like an ordinary person again -
As he is her earliest memory.

You make absence into a physical presence.
I also liked the way you elevate "ordinary" into a desirable goal in the last stanza. You have expressed this human experience perfectly. - David
