This could have been written about the past two weeks in my life. I am coming to believe that those who rewrite history rather than admit the part they played in it, are not those who I care to put much trust in...for those who can't be honest with themselves are rarely honest with others.

Beautifully written, Dawn ~ the last stanza is absolutely perfect.
'This Too Shall Pass' has gotten me through much this year. When I was younger, I would have rolled my eyes at that phrase. Now I've lived enough to know its true meaning and the strength it can give. That sense of strength resonates beautifully in the last verse. Very nice.

Ah yes... that gentle pat on the hand... wouldn't we rather a deft slap on the face sometimes?! I have heard it said that the withholding of emotion is as damaging as the abuse of it... is, in fact, an abuse of it. I know and believe that to be true and have found such situations among the most frustrating in my life. Such control in evidence here, depicting the scenario wonderfully. xx

Strong emotions here, and like you say, "This too shall pass." I wish I could count the times I've latched onto another star to keep me sailing toward a better and exciting future.
