The Furthest From Kind

This is a song/poem about breakups. This was written after a rather touchy breakup, when I was kind of left wondering just what the heck happened.

I sit in the corner
And watch the dancers have their fun
For so many years now
I thought that you were the one
But time has a way of
Changing everyone's mind
But the way that you left me
Was the furthest from kind

The dancers pick partners
And drift across that wood floor.
I wish I could join them
And dance with you just once more.
But you have gone on now
And you've left me behind
And the way that you left me
Was the furthest from kind.

The dancers are laughing
Enjoying every single song.
I wish I could join them
But it's just been too long.
Without you beside me
I'm going out of my mind.
And the way that you left me
Was the furstest from kind

I want to be dancing.
I want to be laughing.
The way we once were.
I want to be happy.
I want you here with me.
I guess, I love you still.
But the way that you left me
Was the furthest from kind.

They call the last dance now
And I sit here by myself.
All of my feelings
Are kept high up on that shelf.
And every night now,
It's that same old boring grind
Since the day that you left me
It was the furthest from kind.

I want to be dancing.
I want to be laughing.
The way we once were.
I want to be happy.
I want you here with me.
I guess, I love you still.
But the way that you left me
Was the furthest from kind.

So I sit in the corner
And watch the dancers have their fun
For so many years now
I thought that you were the one
But time has a way of
Changing everyone's mind
But the way that you left me
Was the furthest from kind

Yeah, the way that you left me
It was the furthest from kind.
