I thought of you the other day
A face in the crowd reminded me
Something about his eyes
And the shape of his shoulders
The kind of man you might have become
If you had not been the man you are
It is rare for me to imagine you
So long without a word

My leaving was exactly what you wanted
Leaving makes me look like the bad guy
Leaving shows which of us is stronger
And it has taken strength to keep going
Raising your boys has not been easy
Wonderful smart talented funny
Beautiful to look at and angry as hell
Because nobody wants to help raise
Another man’s sons by a strong woman
Boys need men, but enough about that
There was something about this man
And he was watching your son do the triple jump
Your son, who has no memory of you, did 37’10”
And I thought how proud you might be
If you had been strong enough to care
..Aamie my dear friend..I live with the father of 'my sons' but that fact does nothing to make him care..thus your leaving the father of your sons was wise indeed..why? You have given yourself back to you..and your sons? ..They don't really need their father..for you have obviously been both...you see Aamie..mine have their's in their life but he is not of it!!..so in the end what our boys need is LOVE that's ALL!!
