How tantalizing they can be

when they think they go unnoticed.

Flitting around as if they own the place;

never giving thought to rhyme or reason…

just like children at play!

How I envy their freedom, their flightiness, their lithe abilities.

Shall I attempt to mimic their antics?

Ahhh! To be a child again and frolic as I may;

to become unleashed in natures wonderful habitat

and enjoy all the natural beauty of childhood and the Impish Ones.

Alas! I have limitations in my “maturity”…but not in my mind!

So I will cavort with the Impish Ones once more…

The Ghosts of Childhood.

Lovely piece of writing, Jackie. Draws the reading in and holds them until the end. A fine poet, indeed.

I have been accused time and again of never having "grown up" so I can relate to this very well. Thank you, Micke. Love and peace to you,

Regis
