My tongue taste one..Sweet and bitter

Poem Artwork

Covering my ears with my hands
I hear no evil
Thunder roars loud enough
Can't hear your voice anymore
Then I"ll have a choice
What invades my thoughts
And , what I feel
Everybody grabs a piece
Till nothing is what remains
I'm forever getting smaller
While you are getting taller
Using all of me...up

Its raining tears
My tongue tastes one
Sweet and bitter..
Love and hate..

Dark clouds my lips
Curled down on the side’s
Screams made deaf by thunder
Tears illuminated by lightening
Storms my soul release
Pent up emotion
Memories flood any dry place
Sadness blows into me
As I curl up in a ball
Body getting smaller
Trying hard to. Disappear

Its raining tears
My tongue taste one
Sweet and bitter..
Love and hate..

How I sometimes envy the toddlers who just lie in the centre aisles at the supermarket, kicking and screaming... so know how they feel and wish I could do likewise - actually, it wouldn't take much even here and now! This reminds me of the child's perspective, and yet as adults we are conditioned and have learned to largely stifle such feelings of vulnerability and a desire to "shut things out". We are more adept at "covering up" such feelings. I am glad you let this one out - it is so honest and real. I so agree, when ambivalent about raging scenarios, it would perhaps be good to be able to take time out with a paper bag over one's head until the disaster/problem has passed perhaps?! May be even better than trying to pour oil on burning waters - which often adds to the escalation of events rather than the opposite. "Silence is golden" - something we tend to rather overlook in these days of the "quick fix". Food for thought. TY Kate xx

Robin, do you remember that song by, I think, Janis joplin about "drugs that make you smaller that mom gives you", this kinda puts me in mind of that song...what with you wanting to get smaller and disappear, damn do I know that feeling...(thanks for your recent kind remarks/reviews of a few of my writes of late, much appreciated and stop by more often, you are most welcome)...foster parents do such a hard job that I DO NOT envy them/you...Peace, Ed & rufuz (w00f)

Thnx Robin for sharing this. It is a very poignant, thought provoking piece, that makes us search our souls sooooo deep to find that inner peace. My inner peace comes from the Lord Jesus and my friends, here, and at home. The world is a dark place, but we survive. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY Robin. May the Lord Jesus bless you and yours, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), for your bravery and caring for your children and the children you foster. This poem flows on the surrealistic-impressionist-symbolistical
seas making waves of teleological painting by the shores of "Its Raining Tears", where tides of ontological pressions show the reality of emotional life.

Healthy Day, Poet!
