Let loose the Dogs of War

“For God and Country!” ~ Platoon

Howling at the moon

The sound of Talking Heads chattering

Masking banalities while

Lives are being lost

Obscures the brutality of Warfare from

The media-cocooned masses

Sheltered from Madness by Insanity

Drifting satiated obfuscated from Reality

Broken veterans intrude upon the dream

Wheel-chaired and leering grotesquely

Limbs akimbo

Faces maimed and scarred

Chasing Yuppie Patriots

Right-winged in tendency

Across manicured lawns and

Neat suburban streets

Ripping yellow ribbon magnets

From the rear bumpers

Of Cadillac Escalades and

BMW wagons…

I alone have done what no man has been able to do

I have taken the next step in our evolution

I have become King and God! ~ The Omega Code

Let loose the Dogs of War

Howling at the moon

As soldiers die in vain

A Reckoning’s coming soon

Their claws track through the blood

As fields of headstones bloom

Politicians hang their heads

Beneath impending doom

Body bags embark upon secret missions

Homeward bound in the dead of night

The unspoken sins of omission

The shame of a country commissioned

By God’s grace unable to face itself

Schizophrenic half Blue half Red

But all of our children are dead

Or dying when the future of the Nation

Is in the hands of a lying NeoCon

Son of a Gun and Dixie alike

A scion of the genealogical heights

Royalty in Colonial gear

East coast milquetoast roasted beneath

The Texas sun

Let loose the Dogs of War

Howling at the moon

As soldiers die in vain

A Reckoning’s coming soon

Mothers wail and fathers cry

When officers come to town

With news of sacrifice

What’s come’s done gone around

Recruitment goals unmet

The Services set their sights upon

The Draft

Casting their nets far and wide

Offering Citizenship

College Tuition

Monetary Bonuses

They’ll buy your mama a car

And promise to make you a Star in

The Army of One

Being all you can be

Traveling the airwaves and the seas

Just join our Military

Please…

“…I have become King and God!” ~ The Omega Code

Let loose the Dogs of War

Howling at the moon

As soldiers die in vain

A Reckoning’s coming soon

A Reckoning’s coming soon

“The average citizen doesn’t care about labels

They care about performance.” ~ George Bush

"Dogs of War" says it as it was felt by the author. It is a stimulating and thoughts' developer writing of poetic voice on social and political responsibilities.

If those that govern would respect and obey the Constitution of The United States of America; if the Congress of this country, USA would respect and obey the Constitution of The United States of America; if at least thirty percent of the adult population of this country would obey the Constitution of The United States of America; and, - The National Bar Association - would comply with its tasks and responsibility, NOBODY would play with DOGS at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC., and we would have a legal country.

I salute You, Poet!

Chilling work, Mark. Thanks for a clear view of what shouldn't be. No matter how many try to rationalize (rational lies) killing others by crying if it wasn't there it would be here, we know it should not be. The Iraqi people had no way of getting here and destroying this country or our freedom. Only our government holds that power, and they are doing it while the chickenlittles run around spouting their sky is falling mantra. It's sad and disgusting and inexcusable. Thanks for giving voice to sanity. As for the last line, that idiot is so out of touch with the 'average citizen' he hasn't a clue, but those who are below average will believe any lie he feeds them. This entire article is meaningful, but these are my favorite words:

The unspoken sins of omission
The shame of a country commissioned
By God’s grace unable to face itself
Schizophrenic half Blue half Red

But all of our children are dead

Our choice is a simple one, Mark. Do it there or they will come here. It is a war of religion and it will be fought...there or here, no matter who is in power in either place. This is not something new; a Muslim extremist killed Bobby Kennedy in 1968. Bobby Kennedy was far from right-winger and this was done for no reason known to us, other than as an act of terror. In 1985 the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70-year-old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by a Muslim extremist. In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim extremists. In 1979 the US embassy in Iran was taken over by, you guessed it, Muslim extremists...shall I go on. These people are not misguided Boy Scouts, they are people who want anyone, other than their own Muslim extremists, to die for the sake of their religion. Very few people like war and no one wants to see our soldiers or innocent people die, but it will happen one way or the other and I would prefer that it happen on foreign soil and not our own...selfish? You bet cha!

Take care,

Sherry
