"Can I kiss her?"

"Of course, that's what she's here for"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your cheeks are pillows made especially for my lips. They are bottomless and warm and giving as my mouth and nose sinks softly within your flesh.
My baby girl...brand-new but like a beautiful wilting flower in the summers breeze you are all floppy like a rag doll. What shall I do with you?
I’ll nurture you in the sunshine, nourish you with food, keep you safe and love you for forever.
You’re a "Big girl" now, but sometimes it's hard to look at how you've grown and matured and the fact that you were once attached to me. Each and every day, time steals you away from me but I know that time will never diminish my love for you.
I thought that I had prepared myself for the time when you’d leave but my bravery crumbled, and all my beliefs of cutting the strings and letting go suddenly became tight knots. There is nothing that could have prepared me for the heartbreak.
But now the tight knots have untangled themselves and have become beautiful bows. Please know that if for any reason at all the bows should become loose, I will always be here to tie it pretty again.
You’re my "Queen Bee" buzzing all around with your shiny crown. A multitude of loveliness you leave in your wake as you cast a radiant light for someone to follow.
You are my beautiful flower but no longer wilting, but strong, indomitable and ready to take on whatever you encounter in life.
Always remember that you are loved
Happy Birthday!
Love,
Mommy
Nothing can be more precious, Marilyn...Time does steal away many of those precious moments for it seems one can never get enough of them. The love and memories remain to reinforce that special bond that no one else can share.
Always,
Amor
Marilyn this poem is a dreamland expression of your love for your 'baby.' There are no words I can say to tell you what joy it is
to know you. Excellent loving, caring Marilyn. Always there when they need you. You will never ever be forgotten by me. Bill
We all have the same feelings about our little girl, even though they may be young ladies or women now, we will always think of them as they were when they're little.
I have penned something similar to my girl too some time ago. We, mothers, all think alike.
Wonderful tribute to a sweet daughter from a wonderful mom!
Marilyn, I do believe that you have expressed the quintessential "mother" thoughts with this gorgeous tribute to your own child... each of us who reads this, I'm quite sure, will click away, when done, with a huge lump in the throat, but also a grand smile... not to mention a deep feeling of real joy! Thank you.. this is a very special poem. katy xox.
Oh, Marilyn, I cried! I have somehow been missing you.
So glad to read this tonight -- brings my Mommy close, from whom
I inherited my tendency toward poetic rythm--and she wrote me
a piece like this, too. "Sixteen and Counting." She's been gone for some years now.
Thanks so very much. Vicky
