Darkness

I blinked for a second and darkness took over my life and pointed me in the direction of a dark massive area littered with destruction and debris and threw everything that bloomed within me at death's door.

The injury from the fall cut deep and badly bruised me

No matter how I tried, the darkness had it's hand on my back, pushing me down and down adding to the pain until I became infected and too weak to fight back.

I was battered and hurt with nothing but my own tears for water - and they burned like acid

Sleep was my only rescue.

I dreamed that the darkness had reigned far too long

I knew that somewhere down in my soul the sun was shining and all I had to do was reach out and grab it, and together we would burn away the darkness

The destruction and debris would dissapate. My bruises and cuts would heal, and in it's place would be my life - my soul.

I had the strength to rise up, but I felt that hand on my back again pushing me down, further this time as if to say
"I'm in charge here, and you have no right to dream"

Marilyn,

Oh Boy can I relate to this! Push back up against that hand with all that you have, and take your dreams back! Our inner demons give the illusion of strength, but we our much stronger then them!

Very introspective, and very effective write!

Hugs,
Maria
