Tempting times they will devise
To lure you in, there's no surprise
And who are 'they'? It could be me
Or maybe you. For who is free?
Most of the time the games play on
Whilst seeking - where have good times gone?
We're all the same, so let's be clear
No point in hiding 'midst the fear
Seek answers and a straight reply
In complications truth can die
Beware of small print in the eyes
Each moment brings a new disguise
So now we know the way things work
Let's not be shy or go berserk
For knowledge has freed us, time for joy
Don't let those tempting times destroy

Well done! Your poem shows much feeling of trails of life. So I will share this:
Twenty years ago My GOAL in life was to find a REAL person. One whom I could TRUST. Well, first I HAD to be a REAL person and trust that I could be true myself and to another even when no one was around. I finally reached that goal - but it was NOT *!!! easy.
My search through life was to find REAL MEN of God. Not bull shit artist and TV preachers. I wanted to REALLY find men who would GIVE THERE LIFE for what they believe in and yes, I have found a few. That's who I hang out with these days.
I used to hang with the dopers and I became a dope. Now I am hanging out with the Holy Hopeful Happy Folks that Get HIGH praying and talking to Jesus and getting high in another way. Awesome!
Last year I wound up in the hospital for a week. I was bit by a Brown Recluse on my chest and it could have been fatal. However, I had a ball witnessing to everyone in my sight and truly was prepared to die and meet my Maker. For the FIRST time in my life I was not afraid to face death head on because I had become what I wanted to see in other men. I had become REAL and TRUE to myself and I was finally at peace.
It's PURE JOY to think of everlasting life because now I GET IT.
We ARE the company we keep.
We become the company we keep.
What we sow IS what we so reap.
My dear friend, may you go in peace this Thanksgiving and Christmas and find your ultimate goal in life. It's a journey well worth taking.
I enjoy a little temptation once in a while… It's this place of life. However, I seem to have a very good crap detector and don't often fall for temptations that are sure to harm me.
I enjoyed reading this one today and like the verses say times gone by we just have to live within this day and just remember on all the good days and times we all had. Thanks Simon
Your points are well made via your verses, Simon. Thank you for sharing them. Love and peace to you,
Regis
