A gentle breeze blows upon my face.
I am filled with loving devotion.
My heart is filled with the fiery trace
of love’s wild and sweet emotion.
I sit here and see my face is abloom.
The sun shone brightly on the tree leaves
just outside the window of our room,
where we’ve just been loving each other today.
The day felt the way songs have been written
expressing how Saturday’s should be.
Can I help it if I am so smitten
with the husband that I love so deeply?
Chicago sang about ‘Saturday In the Park’
and how it was the fourth of July.
They wrote that everyone was smiling, even after dark,
and that on love, we can and should all rely.
Today, I felt the feeling they were writing about.
I can sing the song with gusto and even more understanding.
Its not that our love has changed, or that there is good news for me to shout.
It’s just that the day was, by some ‘afternoon delight’, made even more outstanding.
