Sorrow swells out of my soul.
Tears attempt to fill this hole.
My heart has been ripped out still beating.
Happiness once here, now seems so fleeting.
You have killed all of my inner joy.
I can only feel like a broken child’s toy.
Why did you have to leave me so blue?
What did she do that I couldn’t do?
What is so wonderful about someone you don’t really know?
It confuses me. I thought our love would grow and grow.
I ache with so much heartache and pain.
Why doesn’t the sun hide and it just rain?
I want to crawl into my inner shell…
and forget that life is now a living hell.
A dream…a nightmare from which I want to wake.
God, I don’t know how much more I can take!
Take my memories! Let them drown!
I don’t want to feel so empty and down.
A drink would help me to forget, it’s true .
But all I really want…is to be with you.

This poem is dedicated to all of those who have (or at any time in the past) had their hearts stepped on...and to a friend at work who has just found out that the man she loved for a long time and lived with for over two years was cheating on her with a co worker of his. Bless all broken hearts...and may they all learn to love and live again. Love, Silver

Very well written to what this pain can be like. The silver lining is the end of such a relationship is the door opening to the one that really should be by your side :-)
Hi ((((Kali)))) Boy, I am so glad for the footnote! Had me worried for a minute. A very "real" emotional write, Kali. One that many, many can relate to. Your friend is so fortunate to have a wonderful friend such as yourself. A wonderful write, Kali...
Been there enough times. I wish everyone would find early on that the grass is not greener on the other side and the trust in ones love is sacred.

Oh boy..I could identify with each and every word in this poem. Loved this write Silver. It's so hard to swallow dishonesty from someone you love and trust the most. But I don't think any of us should take it coz our self-esteem comes above it all.
I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work.
