Imminent Fall

Wading through these dark dreams again
Always see, never feeling the dawn…
Never quite able to stifle the screaming,
The echoes resounding you’re gone.

The slow fluid movement of darkness invades,
Preceding the imminent fall…
From the chaotic stacking of each stone of pain,
Cracking mortar lines loosen the wall.

These walls, built to protect, built to deflect,
Tumbling down…
The roar of the silence inside of my head
Drowning me in this emptiness found.
But I’ll build new defenses, and heighten my senses,
Until I can finally heal…
Until I find something to make me believe
That there’s more to this life than we feel.

You left me alone here inside of myself,
Yet I’m finding the darkness a friend…
Yielding thoughts uninspired till the madness invaded,
New insights reborn from the end.

I never found meaning inside of your soul,
Just an empty and shallow facade…
I’ve taken my life back from your soiled hands,
Found you unfit for playing a god.

So…
These walls, built to protect, built to deflect,
Tumbling down…
The roar of the silence inside of my head
Drowning me in the insight I’ve found.
And I’ll build new defenses, to heighten my senses,
Until I can finally heal…
I finally found something to make me believe
That there’s more to this life than we feel.

I finally reached in, found faith in myself,
Finally managed to drown out your voice…
And the reasons resound within new winds of change,
Now the path that I take’s my own choice.

I wrote this with it being a song in mind. (Alternative Rock)

Yes Melissa...it would make a beautiful song You need to find music for it and just go for it. It read smoothly and rendered each image with ease.
