Child of My Heart
Child of my heart, you’re a crystal glass, delicate, webbed with veins; If held too tightly, you may crumble from the pressure of my hands; But if held too loosely, you may tumble and shatter when you fall. So I’ll hold you gently, yet securely, polish you with care, then hold you to the light to see my love reflected there.

A most beautiful poetic essay to the child of your heart. You make me wonder if he or she was an infant when you wrote this, or if you are looking back. It is wonderful to see the intensity of your desire to do the best you can for this youngster.
