Xanthippe Wind
Outside the snow is falling fast
amidst the leaf-filled trees.
The xanthippitic wind is there
nagging winter on…
Inside my thoughts are in a whirl;
there’s winter in my soul--
reminding me three years ago
was when I lost my mom…
If snow was not now falling
and xanthippe wind not howling,
summer’s sun might fill my heart
with warmth of memories too.
In time, the snow will melt away
and spring will come again.
The wind will lose its nagging tone
and softly tease my thoughts--
Reminding me of spring’s rebirth
and promises eternal…

What can I say? I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom, yes, but I see it hasn't made you bitter. Her spirit lives on in hopeful lines - well done. Challenge met and surpassed. Brava, my dear.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
A very beautiful metaphoric poem about the loss of your Mom in combination of the seasons. Very touching, and honors her memory.
