Love, what is it?

Love, what is it,
does anyone know?
Who has it.
does anyone know?
Is it real or a fantasy?

A rose perhaps, in full bloom,
whose petals have fallen,
left to die and decay.

Is it a dream--then why do I scream?
does anyone know?

Perhaps a fluttering butterfly...
that came forth from a worm,
destined to die!

Once so hot, so steamy,
the passion, like a grassfire out of control,
now consumes you, leaving you in its ashes.

Is love hidden in the moon and the stars?
we look to the skies,

As we seek what does not exist..
does anyone know,
Love what is it?

Love has many faces, some real and some not. It is really sad that it seems you have only seen the not real ones. Keep faith, you will get to glimpse a real one.
