Morning Amore

I awoke in the early morn

A bit sooner than I was ready for

And it was a sudden thing

I had a loving arm around me

Soft warm breath on my neck

And a surprise beneath the sheets.

Sleepy, I did my best to wake,

Cooperate and be a loving wife

And just before a real overture was made

He withdrew his offer

Said, "Let's wait till we're alone tonight."

I asked if he was serious.

Why had he woken me?

He said "I was just snugglin."

I can't help what you do to me.

Piqued that I could not go back to sleep

 I listened to him snore

Then recognized my blessing in this sweet morning amore.
