Isn't it funny how history
and time repeats itself
Parents know.......

Poem Artwork

Pitch black is his mind
sitting there
just watching time
like I remember when
i held her hand we walk
down past old Tom slumped
over and down
that good for nothing dog
that use to follow me everywhere

we walked down by those big trees
in the yard
and pee-ed together
you was my girl and i was your man
and we couldn't wait to tell our friends

he knew I let walter kiss me cause we
all was sitting in that circle
playin spin the bottle and we was the ones holding hands

and he done caught me wit him in the closet playin hide and go get it
boy I couldn't sit for days....

momma just kept keeping the garden

he knew when i came home with stockings torn
and was mad as a bat out of hell
that walter was kissing kim
and i told him
he could have the bitch
after i placed her out of the box after school....cause fifth grade ain't no joke and i would be a woman soon and i need a boyfriend who was mature

he said keep yo head in those books
boys don't know what they wont at this age....and I knowed he was right cause
he told me...how he went and pee-ed with another girl that next week cause he liked looking at dey panties

and i said daddy uck i don't want to know about that....

pitch black is his stare
just out seemingly into no-where
i think he think of the times when
I first started driving and i drove his truck into the corner of our house
and he was bent over with laughter
cause the dogs where barking
momma was yelling
I was crying and scared
cause i didn't know his old rusty truck could move so fast
and he just laughed and laughed and laughed

we both was in the dog house

and he said baby I won't be here long
marry that good fellow and make him a home cause I need to know you will be alright

then he smiled and said I know you got your momma in you that evil life sucking bitch (but he loved her every inch) and she goning to be alright on her own

now he sits and she just tends to her garden

Outstanding!

Hello lovely lady,

I agree, this is brilliant, unique, and totally absorbing.
It has a sharp undercurrent to it that really grabs you.
I read it three plus times and got something new out of it each time.
Amazing and it burns a hole in one's mind.
Bravo!

When we write we take the words and turn them every which way to make sure they are the piece for the puzzle. You take the image and fit in place, draw from soul and life give flavor and memories a place to reside, not just for now but for those that come later a reminder of when and now, beauty not in the common but common in the beauty. So well you layer and build, the reader is caught and held to you say it is finished. Outstanding write... Walt

Is it just me, or do the rest of you realize we're sitting in the midst of brilliance, here? My god, Mitzi, this just ran right over me like a truck... I'm dumb-struck by just the 'feel' of it... my head keeps hollering: more, more. Unique? Clever? Absorbing? yeah, yeah yeah... you are one power-packed, masterful writer of the human element in us all... but you have a corner on the writing end of it. This is great stuff! katy xox.
