Hi

evening covers the stairs and walls
daytime left me crying
creeps up the stairs and find me here
on the woodwork laying
he told me he loved me
and yes i believed

whispers so loud in my ear
sweet as a summer morning
kissing gently on my shoulders
welcoming the new days dawning
he told me he loved me
and yes i believed

dishes crash and cry in pain
ants feeding frenzy
my love lefted untouch
yet another evening
and he he told me he loved me
and yes i believed

cold nights here alone when
we were so in love
and.....where are you now?
now that i need you
tears on my pillow
whenever you go I cry me a river that leads to your ocean
and i think damn that was a song
and i think damn what the hell is going on
and i think i will close my eyes and die one last time
before this evening creeps in and cover my walls
cause i'm tired of waiting yall

Good work.
and yes I believed. Those words stood out very strongly.
We seem to believe what we want to, even if it causes us pain. And it appears you have had your share of that.
Blessings,
Judith

The road leads in many directions, love lingers leaving a oe so big it takes a heart to task, yet it waits in reality laid down. You write life, i enjoy.. Walt

"evening covers the stairs and walls" What a great opening line for your poem. Perfect, as in the entire work.

First, let me say that I'm glad to see you're back. I've really missed you. :-) Next, I relate to this poem like so many women probably will. My solution, I'm not waiting no' mo'. Just giving up and joining a convent or something. LOL. I probably mean it this time though. Went on a date today and no "thump de thump" heart. Hehehe. A straight to the heart of the matter write, Mitzi. Again, good to see you back. Felix is right. It's got a song feel. ~~Nordette

Oh Mitzi good to see you post again and with such a strong piece, I can almost hear this being belted out as a song in a Jazz club. Lyrical and filled with pain of heartache.
