I was busking in Cornmarket one freezing day, when two well dressed gentlemen passed my way .
I lifted my voice and sang my own melody.
The two men stopped and laughed ,
and then they said to me .
"Here's a tanner to go towards music lessons ."
Some nice kids on the corner
gave ne their blessings .
They threw me a few quid and they made it quite clear .
"We have a bit more respect than that around here , we think you're ok busker this place is your home ."
I stood there amazed for they had made me their own .
Though I was hungry and weak I stood on my feet and played my music for all
the kids on the street .
My eyes burnt like blazes and my feet felt like lead ,
but the busker and baker made their daild bread .
With an audience before me I went on to sing ,
Lucky It's not raining on the corner busking .
