It was dark and cold on Christmas Eve
and the North Pole was a busy place .
Oh bring us some peace on earth “
Said the big man there , with a smile on his face .
“Ready or not hear I come “
he said ,
“For its almost Christmas time again .”
Then he put on his suit and laced up his boot
And called each reindeer by their name .
All of the reindeers came running but one ,
To the sleigh by Santa’s front door ,
“Well I wonder where that reindeer could be .“
said Santa who could wait no more .
A prayer was sent and then off he went ,
In search of that reindeer that was lost .
On a ground so white , a trail shone bright ,
of reindeers footsteps left in the frost .


He followed the light of a star that night
Where he glimpsed his missing reindeer ,
He called her by name again and again
But she pretended not to hear .
So the reindeer slipped along a snowy path
ever closer to the edge ,
of a glacier peak where she played hide and seek
jumping from ledge to ledge .
She looked south and north and then back and forth ,
Along where her footsteps had been .
In a dug out snow cave , was a sight to save
of beauty no one had seen .
Oh wat a surprise before his very eyes
Was the reindeers little fawn
On the glacier peak there so unique
Was a fawn with a nose that shone .



Santa knew then , that she had hidden from them
her fawn with a nose so bright .
With a choice to make , for goodness sake ,
Santa approached ,silent in the night .
Then in the cave the reindeer had made , he said ,
“Oh what joy I‘ve found today .
“How beautifully bred “
said the man dressed in red .
“ Lets call her Rudolf . Ok?”
He found in the frost his reindeer that was lost ,
and he danced for joy at that .
“Will you guide the way , tonight on my sleigh ,”
because Rudolf that’s where it’s at .
In that moment , there was something so rare
That made Rudolf’s nose shone so bright .
They all walked back where Santa started to pack
the toys in his sleigh that night .
