I am not trying to offend anyone with this write, just hoping to lighten things up a little
Don’t take it so seriously
We are not going to get rich
Or famous
Writing poetry, here
Or anywhere else
Even after he was famous
Jim Morrison self published his poetry
It’s just a contest, and this site Makes no promises
Of objectivity or even skill
It selects its winners by some scale
That none of us are privy to
And for the most part
I have enjoyed the works they selected
So I’m not complaining
It’s just a vanity site
And we are, after all, a vain lot

i love to write, because i feel i have to. i may not be great, or even good...but it makes ME feel good to have my ego stroked. if i'm bad, i appreciate honest critique and constructive criticism.
