Sunrise

                                                        Night ends,
                                                        a little at a time.

                                                        The stars go out,
                                                        one by one,
                                                        in cadence to an aria
                                                        begun long ago.

                                                        From mournful grey,
                                                        in subtle tones,
                                                        the sky glows,
                                                        slowly,
                                                        with the glory of the Sun.
