Losing those people i loved the most, friends and family.

Poem Artwork

It feels like...bereavement

Silent tears and stifled sobs

as i leave the past behind

I muddle through the present

The future I've yet to find

who am I?
  what did i become

And whom am I yet to be?

Once upon a time

  I was secure and happy

with family

but now my days are worn

And i'm not so carefree

Since my life was torn

  away from me

Time and circumstance

  I could not prevent

I reacted with non-acceptance

  with anger to vent

No longer was I

  sweet, soft, angelic

and tolerant

but hell-bent

  on creating chaos

wherever i went

Unrecognisable to

  those who were near

I did not know the

  face in the mirror

depicted fear

Change is inevitable

  but it came too soon

Things i took for granted

  were swept up

In a dark typhoon

Leaving me in a

  state of shock

losing my religion

  blaming God

Asking why

  I could not cry

Yet feeling so choked

  up inside i could die

And now the tears

  are trickling through

Although the flood is

  yet to come

To feel this release

  would be great

To open the floodgates

  And be free

Of the emotional chains

  that are binding me

And preventing me from

  living life fully.

Andrea,

Outstanding poem and message. Life can sometimes choke us but somehow we have to take a few extra chews and swallow real hard to force it down. Peace to You My Friend, Paul

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
