the media has been stuffing our throats with blood and gore and negativity and their idea of perfection--and i don't buy into it any more. i love me for me. a former neighbor wasn't satisfied with her appearance--52 years old, had spent her youth working in the sun, had wrinkles--she thought she was ugly. i thought she was beautiful, inside and out...she had plastic surgery. the result? she was in extreme pain and her face was literally BURNED from the chemical peal. she started to heal from that, and had her scheduled knee replacement...she had developed an infection from the plastic surgery, didn't know it...they proceeded with the knee replacement anyway...and she died. 52 freaking years old. what did the face lift get her? six feet under and a whole lot of people who miss her terribly. :(
if God wants me to have grey hair and wrinkles, I'LL TAKE EM
hard hitting, necessary write--SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! we are sick of trying to live up to an impossible image and we ain't gonna take it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The media's been selling women a bill of goods for years. Unfortunately, some took the bait. This is not only a job well done, Phyllis, it is responsible, as well!
this is why i don't read the gossip mags or watch the news, especially the celebs. all they do is flaunt their wealth or their skinny bodies; it's sickening! great write, pea!

At work I see many of these kinds of media that people buy all the time. Its no wonder people cannot feel the changes! Close the magazines, turn off the Television :-) Great write.
